5 Things I Love About The Glider Plus

June 14, 2023

review the glider plus

As an expecting parent (and especially as a breastfeeding mom), one of the most important furniture investments you’ll make is your nursery glider. It’s where you’ll spend many precious hours feeding, soothing, and rocking your little one. Those early months are time-intensive (to say the least) and investing in something that keeps you supported and comfy is critical. After seeing many testimonials on the gram from friends and influencers alike, I recently got The Glider Plus from Nurture& and wanted to share an honest review of my experience so far.

1. The MOST Comfortable!

Given the amount of time you’ll spend in it, having a glider that really delivers on comfort is key. When The Glider Plus first arrived, it was a bit firmer than the gliders I had tested in-store. However, after just a few days of using it, The Glider Plus felt like it sculpted to my body and I really appreciated that it provided ample bodily support, from my neck and shoulders all the way down to my legs. Even the chair arms are thoughtfully designed. Feeding, soothing, and rocking babies will require one to finagle themselves into many different positions. I love how wide, supportive, and comfortable the arms of the chair and feel like they really help me achieve the best ergonomic position possible, saving on major aches and pains later down the road.

2. Automated Lumbar Support

The Glider Plus is the only glider I could find that had automated lumbar support, allowing me to control the amount of lower back support via the power control on the side. Breastfeeding has really taken a toll on my body – and especially on my back – so this feature has helped a ton. I feel a huge difference between when I’m feeding Graham in The Glider Plus vs a different chair or on the couch.

3. Stain-Resistant Fabric

For being such tiny creatures, babies produce a whole lot of mess. Spit-up, diaper blowouts, and general drool to name a few. I also happen to love the color white (sigh) which means that stain-resistant fabric is really the only solution to marrying my color preferences with my family’s lifestyle and needs. The Glider Plus comes in a beautiful Ivory and Gray – both of which are made in stain-resistant fabric. I’ve had the Ivory color for more than a month now and it’s still sparkly clean. Any time I’ve spilled (which is a lot), I easily wipe it up with a damp cloth, and voila! It looks just like new!

4. Smooth Glide and Swivel

Not all gliders are created equally and having one that provides a smooth gliding experience is key. Can you imagine getting your fussy baby to sleep only to have them awakened by a jolty movement or annoying creaking sound? The Glider Plus delivers a smooth glide that allows me to gently rock Graham to sleep and then smoothly transfer him to his crib or bassinet. And I love the swivel feature- it gives me much more mobility when I’m in the room, allowing me to keep my eye on Reese as needed.

5. Adjustable Headrest and Built-In USB Charger

There’s often a significant height difference between parents/caregivers, which makes the adjustable headrest a very convenient feature. My husband and I can customize it to our personal preferences, making it the ideal chair for both of us – a win for everyone! And the USB charging port is the best! I do some of my best scrolling and shopping while feeding my little one and love being able to charge my phone simultaneously.

Any Downsides?

After spending hours in this chair, I can personally promise that there is really nothing to complain about. It’s comfortable, has more features than any other glider on the market, holds up well, and looks pretty which basically makes it the perfect glider! I will say that it’s a bit on the pricier side so budget is a factor to consider. But as I mentioned before, your glider will inevitably become your new best friend, so if you’re going to splurge on anything, it’s this. That said, if The Glider Plus is out of your price range, Nurture& does make some amazing, lower-priced models that are worth considering. And if you’re starting from scratch, check out their Glider Buyer’s Guide to assess which option is best for you.
