Baking sugar cookies is as easy as 1-2-3! Here is my easy-to-follow recipe.
Sugar Cookies Ingredients
- 2 ½ cups unsalted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 cups of flour
- 1 tsp salt
Now we are ready to bake ’em!
Start by creaming together butter and sugar. Mixed them thoroughly. Now, slowly add eggs and continue to mix. After the eggs are combined, add in the vanilla. Sift together the flour and salt, then slowly add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Once the mixture is combined roll the dough out onto two (2) parchment pieces of paper. Refrigerate it for one (1) hour before cutting out the cookies.
Once you cut them out, place cookie shapes onto a nonstick cookie sheet or a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for another 1 hour before baking at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes. Allow cookies to cool for a few minutes before removing them from the baking sheet and then transferring them to a cooling wrap.
Allow your sugar cookies to cool completely for 30 minutes before icing.
