Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and what better way to express your love than with a homemade treat? In this blog post, we’ll guide you through the delightful process of baking Valentine’s Day cookies and share creative ideas on how to package and gift them to make this day even more special.
Now let’s get into how we make them!
Check out my sugar cookie recipe below.
For these Valentine’s Day cookies, I used some X, O, and heart-shaped cookie cutters.
For icing ideas, you can check out my super easy and quick royal icing recipe or you can purchase pre-made royal icing as listed above. When purchasing pre-made royal icing you simply just need to add water until your royal icing is the consistency you want.
I wanted my Valentine’s Day cookies to give the appearance of donuts. So, I first iced all of my cookies with a light brown royal icing to resemble donuts. After about 30 minutes of drying, I then added my top coat of icing. For the top coats of icing, I changed out color and design. Colors I switched between red, light pink, and white. On some I added sprinkles and on others I added a swirl line to resemble a donut. Honestly have fun with this process! Decorate them however you would like!
Once your cookies are baked, decorated, and dry, it’s time to box them for gifting!
I used 2 different types of boxes. One fit 2 cookies where I simply just placed an X and O in each. The other box fit 6 cookies so I did a combination of X, O, and hearts. After all was said and done, it looked like a fun assortment of Valentine’s Day donuts.
Baking and gifting Valentine’s Day cookies is a delightful way to show your love and appreciation for those special people in your life. Whether you’re sharing them with friends, family, or a significant other, the effort you put into creating these sweet treats will undoubtedly make this Valentine’s Day memorable. I personally love gifting to those who are there for us on a daily basis, teachers, sitters, friends, and family! So, roll up your sleeves, preheat that oven, and let the love-infused baking begin!
